THINK! SIT! PRAY!

This brings up horrible memories of primary school, singing propaganda songs about the birth-of-some-child-that-half-the-world-did-not-believe-was-the-messiah-but-you-damn-well-better-take-that-back-because-we-have-loads-of-evidence-in-our-heart shit.

Anyway, apparently there's a law against not praying in primary schools (England & Wales) and many schools have actually been breaking that law by not holding prayer sessions every day like some American education camp. Archbishop of Wales, Barry Morgan (who's closer to the fictional being than you or me, hence why he has a title that means fuck all to anyone, let alone the fictional being), believes:
There are resources available - perhaps more money ought to be available for that because actually it affects the kind of society that we are.
First off, are you on this planet or have you gone to live with the fictional being? It's my understanding we need PFI because the neo-liberals in Parliament think the state is morally wrong except when it's dictating how often we should pray. Secondly, linking morality and religion is the same tired crap that has never been substantiated.
He goes on to defend religion in schools:
It's not just the hard religious sell in acts of worship, it's asking questions about the meaning of life. It's asking questions about what it means to live in a society where you respect others. Now all those, it seems to me, are religious virtues - tolerance, forgiveness, compassion.
If by asking questions, you mean select an explanation from this selection of religions; Yes, it really has taught us to think. Tolerance, forgiveness and compassion ARE NOT EXCLUSIVELY RELIGIOUS VALUES.
It would be idiotic to leave out faith in God in a school when that's part of our society and when it's part of the Christian foundation of this country.
Much like a cancer is the foundation of ill health and we shouldn't cut it off?
